Keep Out, Crawlies! Top Maintenance Tips for Your Garage This Summer

The garage often becomes a catch-all for things and a home for the items that spend a lot of time outdoors. Below are some tips to help maintain yours: Sort Through Everything. Keep only what you need and purge the rest. Use bins with lids and extra-large labels to protect from moisture and creepy crawlies that sometimes occupy our garages. Stack your containers vertically to maximize your storage. Remove the Stains. Use sawdust or kitty litter to soak up grease, oil, and other garage spills. Let sawdust or kitty litter sit on the stain for at least 24 hours. After sweeping up the dust or litter, pour dishwasher detergent on the stains and let it sit for 45 minutes. Then, pour boiling water on top and scrub. Fill the Cracks. Use epoxy paste and scrape away excess so that it is left level with the floor; once the epoxy is completely dried, lightly sand for a smooth finish.
