How do you bring positive energy into a new living space? While the things around us have the potential to affect us in deep ways, there are measures we can take to attract good luck and create feng shui at home. By making even a few small changes, you have the power to add harmony and order to your surroundings. Use these tips to increase positivity and good luck at home.

Decorate with Lucky Colors

Colors influence our moods, behaviors, and feelings, and are one of the easiest ways to tie together different parts of your home. Living Room. In the living room, it's best to use light, soothing colors, such as yellow, white, or light green. These colors encourage peaceful energy that will enhance your mood and brighten your space. Additionally, soft gray is a good color for the living room, according to experts; it is airy, welcoming, and warm, and it has a soothing, positive energy. Bedroom. Your bedroom is your most personal space. Accordingly, we recommend using light shades of green and blue, as these colors are calming and are associated with nature, health, and generosity. Kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of your home. Use green and yellow to maintain a balance of warmness and coolness in your cooking space, and to balance calm and playful energies. Red is also a good color for the kitchen, as it's associated with energy and is rumored to stimulate appetite. This makes it a great color for a home office or a child's workspace, along with green, which enhances our concentration abilities. For a kid's space, avoid using gray, black, and dark blue. Instead, use bright colors to encourage creativity. Front Door. If your front door faces south, paint it red for good luck, according to feng shui; paint south-facing doors red or orange, north-facing doors blue or black, west-facing doors gray or white, and east-facing doors brown or green.

Declutter Your Space

One of the important steps when thinking about how to bring positive energy to a new home is getting rid of clutter. More clutter means less positive energy in your space, and that can negatively affect your mental state. On the other hand, a space that is clutter-free and filled with objects that are used regularly permits positive energy to flow freely through the space and through you. Experts say the best time to clear the clutter from your life is during a major life change, such as a new job, a new relationship, or moving into a new home. One other suggestion on how to bring positive energy into a new home? Wear red. "Just as red dancing shoes make your feet feel like moving, so wearing red clothes make you feel like taking action," according to Karen Kingston, a clutter clearing expert. "You'll find it easier to let things go."

Objects that Bring Good Luck to Your House

Fruit. Have you ever wondered why so many homeowners have a bowl of lemons sitting out? Citrus fruit is known for its high acidic values and has been used in household cleaners for centuries. Many people believe that it attracts prosperity and positive energy. Elephants. In many cultures, elephants symbolize good fortune and wisdom. Whether it's a figurine, a pillow, or a painting, place elephant showpieces near the front door or main entrance to your home. Keep the elephant facing north to attract positive energies, according to experts. Fresh Flowers. Plants play an important role in channeling the natural flow of positive energy. Moreover, they also purify the environment by absorbing carbon dioxide and are rumored to attract abundance and improve relationships. However, there is a point of controversy--should it face upwards, so that luck doesn't run out, or downwards so that fortune "falls" on those who enter? Incense. The next time you have a bad day, why not burn a warm scent to invite harmony and luck into your space? Some people believe that the smoke from incense clears negativity from the home. White String Lights. When you hang white string lights in your entryway or porch, it will attract opportunity to your home and help you to recognize good fortune.

Make Your Home a Haven of Positivity

Everyone knows the power of a good first impression, and that doesn't change when it comes to making a new space feel like home. Many believe it's important to pay attention to the date you plan to move, while others insist that the day of the week will set a specific tone. In the same way, others assert that rain on a moving day will bring bad luck for years to come. However, there are many ways to invite prosperity into your space, including boiling a pot of milk and rice until it boils and making bread and salt the first things that you bring into your home. Other suggestions on how to bring positive energy into a new home include adding light to dark areas, painting your porch ceiling, and buying a new broom to usher in a fresh start.
