Get to Know Tim McBratney, CMA
Being a Mortgage Advisor has always been more than just a career for me. With 38+ years of experience in this industry, I can honestly say it's a privilege to help clients with their dreams of homeownership.
Much has changed since I first learned the trade in 1982 but the foundation of a well-written and thoroughly reviewed loan has not. As a Sr. Mortgage Advisor at PacRes Mortgage, I believe that our core values and customer service have created a long-lasting impression within our community as a trusted, reliable lender.
PacRes Mortgage was founded in 2004 and has consistently been ranked one of Oregon's 100 Best Companies to Work For. This company immediately caught my eye with their meteoric rise right out of the gate. Since I began working for PacRes Mortgage in 2006, I have seen growth, both in myself and in the company. Now licensed in over 25 states, we are proud to offer FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional loans, as well as a myriad of other products to meet the needs of our clients.
I currently work out of the PacRes Mortgage Lake Oswego branch, surrounded by all the things I love about the PNW. I have resided in Oregon for over 32 years, and my wife, Diane, and I are blessed with a teenage son who will be attending college in the coming year. It's been a pleasure to raise a family in a state with endless natural beauty and the opportunity to explore.
I'm also actively involved with the Tigard Chamber of Commerce and the City itself, having served on their chamber board for the past 8 years. It has been a true pleasure working with such quality people within the community.
I'm here to be your home loan guide, no matter which city you decide to call home. I'm licensed in OR, WA, AZ, and CA, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Why Choose a Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist?
I’ve received extensive training on all lending options available to eligible reverse mortgage clients and have a deep understanding of specific loan programs and underwriting requirements. I’m familiar with each program’s unique features and benefits and how you can use a reverse mortgage as an effective retirement planning tool.
Leverage One of Your Largest Assets
As a Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist, I’ll help you incorporate your home’s equity into your retirement plan—whether you want to improve monthly cash flow, access funds for long-term care, or manage returns in your retirement accounts, there are countless ways to utilize home equity to meet your needs.
The reverse loan is a non-traditional mortgage program, so I set aside time to consult with my clients to ensure they fully understand the nature of this product. We’ll work together to identify your unique needs and create a customized solution for your life.
What is a Certified Mortgage Advisor?
Why Choose a Certified Mortgage Advisor?
As a Certified Mortgage Advisor, I have been extensively trained in all aspects of mortgage-backed securities, treasuries, and bonds. I provide a hands-on client experience that allows me to fully assess a client's financial picture, understand their future goals, and design a mortgage product to meet those needs.
Personal Wealth Creation
As a CMA, my role is to help clients understand how to use mortgage debt to build sustainable lifelong wealth. I pride myself in assisting clients in creating wealth and retirement strategies that can help them better understand the time value of money and make sure they are on the right path to reach their financial goals.
You're in Good Hands
I take a customized approach to every transaction. We take the necessary time to educate and advise on the multiple loan products available. After identifying mortgage strategies, we educate each scenario's pros and cons and help determine the best loan option to help achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
Straddling the Willamette River, Oregon’s largest city offers culture, history, coffee, and lots of books. While Pacific Northwest winters may be damp, outdoor beauty abounds year-round. Forest Park, a 5,200-acre space that provides refuge to native wildlife, offers easy access to hiking and mountain-biking trails. For a scenic stroll, head over to the Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Portland Japanese Garden, or the International Rose Test Garden.
Portland is home to many family-friendly attractions, including the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Pittock Mansion, the Oregon Zoo, and Oaks Amusement Park, one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the country.
Plus, readers rejoice—the City of Roses is home to Powell’s, the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. Once you’ve picked out a book, grab a cup of coffee at Portland Coffee Roasters or Stumptown.
