Learn More About La Pine
Located about 30 minutes south of Bend, La Pine offers a sprawling desert landscape with quick access to some of Oregon’s most popular destinations, including the Newberry Crater, Deschutes River, Deschutes National Forest, Cascade Lakes, and Crater Lake.
Newberry Crater, an active volcano, has 54,000 acres of wooded trails, cinder cones, basalt and obsidian flows, and two lakes; along the Deschutes River and near the Deschutes National Forest, popular activities include kayaking, camping, surfing, and white-water rafting.
Near downtown La Pine, there’s no shortage of local eateries and coffee shops, like the Harvest Depot. Further out, you can head to Crater Lake to stargaze, fish, or see the wildflower in bloom; up north, you can visit Mt. Bachelor to ski, snowboard, or snowshoe.
