Honoring our Nation's Heroes

This year marks the 99^th holiday celebrating the noble men and women of the armed forces. Initially dubbed Armistice Day in 1918, Veteran's Day is a time we can pause to honor those who served to protect the American dream. Looking for a way to give back to veterans in your community? There are many great ways to get involved and turn your gratitude into action!

Ways to get involved:

• Can you contribute monthly to support injured veterans and their families? Many veterans face disabilities, both mental and physical when they return home. Make a donation to support them here!
• Have an old cell phone lying around? Soldiers can go significant lengths of time without speaking to their families because of lack of any means to communicate. You can donate your used cell phone here so deployed soldiers can call their families back home.
• Veterans of past wars are often forgotten the more time passes. If you'd like to say thank you in a tangible way to one of these older heroes, such as a World War II veteran, you can make a donation here.
• Do you want to volunteer your time, and like animals? Check to see if you can help this organization which helps match animals with veterans to assist in their healing and recovery process with PTSD and other mental health-related conditions. The unconditional love of an animal can help a vet recover from serious depression or anxiety related to their service.
